About Me

Hi, I’m Audrey, a former Operations Manager at a biotech startup, now transitioning into a career in UX/UI design. From a young age, my passion for creativity, whether through performing arts like Chinese dance or visual arts such as drawing and pottery, has always been a guiding force in my life.
This was the start to my journey into UX/UI design.
In college, I discovered digital design through my involvement in a campus culture club, where I created promotional materials for events. Despite a demanding academic schedule, I found myself deeply engaged in experimenting with colors and fonts—often losing track of time.
After graduating, I worked in operations at a biotech startup, where I used my problem-solving skills to support the scientists. However, while the role was rewarding in many ways, I found it lacked the creativity I craved, which led me to explore UX/UI design.
UX/UI design is the perfect combination of my research, problem-solving, and design interests, while also offering the creative outlet I was missing. In addition, my background in operations and project management has given me a strong foundation in working with efficiency, empathy, and strong communication, which are crucial skills for collaborating with teams and executing design plans.
Though the transition into design was initially daunting, I’m continuously inspired by the industry’s openness towards change and innovation. I’m excited to continue growing in this field and am eager to apply my UX/UI design skills across industries such as biotech & pharma, healthcare, education, e-commerce and environmental industries. I look forward to embracing new challenges and creating meaningful, impactful user experiences.
